How To Operate A Belt Sander
Most belt sanders of standard size are equipped with front and back handles or a similar design. Make sure to grip your belt sander with two hands, keeping your rear-hand thumb or forefinger relatively close to the trigger. Once you fire up your sander, make sure to keep it in constant, fluid motion and flat, so you don’t dig into your material. There’s no need to push down on the machine. Simply allow the weight of the belt sander to provide the appropriate pressure. Occasionally check your dust bag or dust collection system and empty if necessary.
